Granite is the hardest and most durable stone we carry, excellent for counter surfaces and flooring. Granite forms deep in the earth, as molten rock cools and forms crystals of several minerals. These crystals can as small as sand grains, pea-sized, or even as big as your fingers. Some of the crystals are very reflective, giving many granites a sparkly appearance. The colors are dramatic in some cases, subdued in others, ranging from black to light beige, green, rose, and more.

Our countertops are 26" wide and 99" long. Three sides, the ends and one side, are fabricated with an overhang of 1-1/2" (40mm), creating an 8' counter with a standard 1-1/2" overhang. These prefabricated counters can be cut to size and seamed together like any other stone counter slab, using a colored Akimi that obscures the seam. Larger prefabricated pieces, for example an island or peninsula, can be custom-ordered with 3 month lead time.

Most of our colors are available in polished, honed, velvet and riverwash finishes. We have found that our prefabricated slabs are unique, the riverwash and velvet textured finishes are very well received, and the counters can be installed for about 40% less than domestically fabricated slabs.
